New Orleans native, Jaime Johnson-Duplessis is experienced educator who has earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English Literature; Masters Degree in Special Education and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans. Jaime's research background includes published works centered around Feminist Theory, Black Feminist Theory, Activism, School Leadership, and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. An education-entrepreneur, 4.0 Fellow and New School Creation Fellow, Dr. Johnson-Duplessis is excited to enhance the opportunities for NOLA girls in grades 6-12. Contact:



Board Member-Community Liaison

Lauren Lewis is a licensed professional cosmetologist and cosmetology educator with over 10 years of experience. She has a major concentration in education. Her drive, motivation and passion is fueled by assisting future professionals excel in every area of their lives.

Kimberly Turner is an educator with 15 years experience teaching in public schools. She has earned a BA in Education and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction; and is currently working on her PhD. Kimberly is a dedicated member of the community and also a mother of four kids.


Board Member-PK16 Pipeline Advisor

Felicia D. Young is the founder of Higher Minds of Education LLC.  She received her B.A. from Dillard University and her M.Ed. from Northeastern University.  She has been in the higher education industry for over ten (10) years, working in public, private and community colleges throughout Louisiana.  Felicia has been an active volunteer in her church, community and throughout the region as well as on many college and university colleges.  Currently, she is enrolled in a doctoral program at Gwynett Mercy University for Educational Leadership to advance her knowledge to aid students in their journey towards a degree in higher education. She was also a finalist for the Millennial Awards in New Orleans, the 2018 ACT Workforce Champion and a featured speaker at the 2018 Black History Month Literary Weekend


Board Member-Student Support Advisor

Brittney Robins is a special education advocate and educator. She received her M. Ed in Educational Leadership at the University of New Orleans and is currently a doctoral student in Educational Administration. Brittney has over 9 years of experience in education with a specific focus on serving students with disabilities and empowering parents to understand special education law.


Board Member-Community Liaison

Deatrice Green is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Louisiana, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) as well as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She is from New Orleans, Louisiana where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Xavier University and her Master of Health Science from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Deatrice is the owner of Aspire to Empower Counseling Services, LLC., where she provides counseling services to adults, children, adolescents, couples and families. 


Board Member-College Completion

Nicole Caridad Ralston is a social justice educator passionate about racial equity in education. She has worked in higher education for over 8 years. Nicole Caridad received her Bachelor's in History & American Studies at Florida State University, and earned her Masters of Higher Education Administration at NC State University. She is currently a doctoral candidate at The University of New Orleans where she is studying how women of color in higher education senior leadership navigate race and gender in the workplace and mentor others. Nicole Caridad also serves on the planning board of the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation Azúcar Ball which raises scholarships for local Hispanic and Latinx youth.


Board Advisor-College Completion

Originally from Oakland, CA but now call New Orleans home.  She holds a Bachelors from Temple University and a Masters from Louisiana College. She is a life long educator, who moved to New Orleans in 2012 as a Teach for America Corps member. Since then she has learned from over 500 young people in New Orleans. As well as worked as a facilitator for Nola Our Way Youth Symposium, Teach for America's National Office and Tulane University. Dance is her first love, as she knows it can heal communities, build friendships, and lead to liberation.


Board Member- Finance Professional

Janique D. Bardell is an accountant with experience in public accounting and charter school finance. She received her BS in Accounting from Xavier University of Louisiana, and is currently pursuing her Certified Public Accountant license.  Janique has previously served on the board of directors for the Junior Committee of the New Orleans Opera Association. She’s also a wife and mother of two children.

Danielle is an entrepreneur and business professional who is interested in advancing educational opportunities for girls in New Orleans.




STEM Curriculum Advisor

Tamika Bruno is a certified 6th grade Science and Robotics teacher. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she earned a M.A. in Criminal at Southern University of New Orleans and an B.A. in Psychology from Grambling State University. Boasting over 10 years of experience in education, Mrs. Bruno has been involved in many educational programs including NBSE and PLTW. Her mission is to encourage kids to excel academically, successfully finish school and, obtain positions that will help impact their communities in a positive way.
